Jagannath University (JnU) has announced that the first-year honours classes for the 2024-25 academic year will begin on June 22. The information was confirmed by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Rezaul Karim on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking to reporters, the vice-chancellor said that the university’s academic council has officially decided on the date for starting the new academic session. A notification will soon be issued to inform students about the schedule and further details.

“Our admission process is nearing completion. About 95 percent of the students have already completed their admission procedures. The remaining seats will be filled very soon,” he said.

Professor Karim also mentioned that the university has achieved an important milestone this year by moving away from the cluster admission system. This has helped Jagannath University reduce the session gap by almost six months, which he described as a significant success for the institution.

“This was a difficult task, but with the combined efforts of all the officials, teachers, and staff members of the university, we have been able to make it possible. It shows the strength of teamwork and determination,” he added.

He expressed hope that in the coming years, the university would be able to complete all academic and admission-related activities in a shorter time. “We are aiming to make our academic calendar more timely and organised for the betterment of our students,” he said.

Jagannath University authorities will soon publish an official notice on their website and notice boards for the students regarding the class schedules and orientation programs.
