While the nerd-centric sitcom was initially conceived as an ensemble series, it became clear that Sheldon was its true lead as it went on. The Big Bang Theory's final season proved this after much of season 12 was devoted to his and Amy's bid for the Nobel Prize in Physics. Despite this, there's also no denying that Sheldon was the worst character on the show. He was almost always inappropriate and, sometimes, downright offensive, even to his friends.
As The Big Bang Theory's only spin-off, Young Sheldon offers an explanation for some of the socially-inept genius' oddest behaviors. However, the character already had the same tendency to be too frank on the prequel, leaving fans curious how and why he could be so tactless. Sheldon frequently said inappropriate things to people because he didn’t know they were inappropriate. And also the truth, there was nothing to, should be of the cost of truth.
Sheldon has always been very blunt, and most of the time, he doesn't even recognize how his words impact the people around him. Despite this, he maintains a tight friend group on The Big Bang Theory. At any point during the show's run, the Pasadena gang could have walked out on him. He constantly mocked and belittled Howard; he was sexist against Penny, and could be a straight-forward bully to Leonard on several occasions. During the Big Bang Theory series finale, he was incredibly selfish by invalidating everyone else's woes and insisting that they only focus on him as he geared up to receive the Nobel Prize in Physics.
