Faruq Hossain, 35, of Khajura village in Jhenidah municipal area succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Thursday morning. He was the son of Golan Bari.
Locals and police sources said about 35 persons belongs to opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), joined the ruling Awami League (AL) under the leadership of local AL leader Liton on Tuesday evening.
Protesting the matter, a faction of the local AL leader Abul Hossain’s men swooped on newly joined Faruq and his men on Wednesday morning.
It led the village clash which injured about 20 persons injured. Later the police men from Jhenidah Sadar police station rushed the spot and brought the situation under control.
They said a number of the injured were admitted to Jhenidah Sadar hospital. Of the injured two were referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in a critical state.
Of the duo, Faruq Hossain succumbs to his injuries at DMCH on Thursday morning when he was undergoing treatment there.
Jhenidah police station officer in charge Mijanur Rahman when contacted said the situation of the village was under control and additional police forces were deployed there to avoid further tense. They are going to file a case in this regard, officer in charge said.
