Jhenaidah police nabs 2 on cybercrime charge

The police in Jhenaidah have arrested two persons including a house wife for their alleged involvement in cheating people using cyber media. They were arrested from different places from Jhenaidah Sadar upazila in the night of Wednesday. They were identified as Tabibur Rahman, 30, son of Yahia Munshi of Ramnagar village and Samapti Khatun, 28, wife of Sabuj Hossain of Defolbaria village in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila. The superintendent of police (SP) Ashiqur Rahman briefed it in a press conference before the media activists at his conference room on Thursday noon.

SP said they arrested along with some others staying in Cambodia had been cheating the people assuring them of providing huge profit to allure them in depositing money using ABABA Apps.

Having the information an investigation team of the cyber crimes unit had arrested Tabibur from Bhenentala village and Samapti Khatun from her village during the night. Later a case was lodged with Jhenaidah Sadar police station accusing six persons. 

Additional SP Anwar Syeed, additional SP in Jhenaidah Sadar circle Abul Bashar and cybercrime unit officials remain present during the press conference.
