Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has distributed agriculture machineries including reapers and combined harvesters among the farmers on Tuesday morning. The machineries were distributed at a subsidized price in order to boost the agriculture production.
A progarmme was organised for distribution on Jhenaidah Sadar upazila agriculture office premises. DAE Deputy Director of Jhenidah Asgar Ali, Upazila Parishad Chairman Advocate Abdur Rashid, UNO SM Shahin, Woman Vice Chairman Arati Dutt, Porahati Union Parishad Chairman Shahidul Islam Hiron and Agriculture Extension Officer Emdadul Hasan were present there.
DAE sources said 11 farmers in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila received the agro machineries including reaper and combined harvesters at 50 percent subsidy rate from the government.
The speakers said that the farmers will be able to harvest the crops within a short time which will reduce their time and labour cost. It will also reduce the production cost.
