Jhenaidah district administration organized a discussion marking the genocide day of 1971 at District Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Saturday. Jhenaidah deputy commissioner Manira Begum presided over the event where lawmaker of Jhenaidah 2 also president of Bangladesh Awami League Jhenaidah district committee Abdul Hyee attended as chief guest.
Reserved women seat lawmaker of Jhenaidah and Magura Khaleda Khanam, Bangladesh Awami League Jhenaidah district committee general secretary Saidul Karim Mintu, local government rural development deputy director Yearul Islam, Jhenaidah municipality mayor Qayum Shahrier Zahedi Hizol and Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangshad Jhenaidah district unit ex commander Makbul Hossain present as special guests.
The speakers urged upon all to spread the spirit of the mass killing incident against the innocent people of the then East Pakistan and called upon the international community tom recognize the historical day on March 25 of 1971.
They also slatted the evil doings of the occupying Pakistani rulers.
