Jhenaidah DC urges rice mill owners to keep market stable

Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Jhenaidah SM Rafiqul Islam on Wednesday urged the rice mills owners and wholesale vendors to cooperate the local administration to keep the rice price stable and check the price hiking. He was speaking in an orientation at his conference room where the district level officials, concerned business men and media professionals were present.

While presiding over the orientation, DC SM Rafiqul Islam said the rice mills owners and traders have significant role in keeping the prices to a tolerable level which might reduce the sufferings of the mass people. Mentioning ethical profit margin of the business, the DC said they should monitor the market when someone of the dishonest retailers were increasing the price without further notice and reason. It has been making the market unstable and dissatisfying the consumers. 

The government will consider zero tolerance for this sort of incident that goes against the interest of the common people. 

Additional deputy commissioner (ADC, revenue) Ariful Islam, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Razia Akter Chowdhury, district controller of food Mannan Ali, Jhenaidah district auto rice mills association president Moazzem Hossain and general secretary Bikas Kumar Biswas among others present.
