The annual rally of the Ansar and village defense party (VDP) for the year 2022 was held in Shailkupa upazila in Jhenaidah on Monday. Organization’s upazila office organized the programme at Shailkuipa upazila parishad auditorium with upazila nirbahi officer (acting) Boni Amin in the chair. Ansar VDP district commandant Mohammad Ashiquzzaman attended the prgramme as chief guest. Shailkupa police station officer in charge (OC) Aminul Islam, upazila Ansar and VDP officer Habibur Rahman and trainer Rokeya Kjhatun present as special guests. A number of media activists were present. The guests had awarded 32 personnel for their outstanding performances in the law and order and other activities out of 200 during the rally.
The rally had committed to help the police or any other law enforcers to assist them in law order maintenance, combat drug, smuggling and militancy to build a peaceful Sonar Bangla as desired by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The speakers said the Ansar VDP personnel after established in 1948 had showed guard of honour to the Mujibnagar government under the leadership of platon commander Yad Ali in 1971. THe forces have been furnishing duties with the rapid actio battalion, police, DGFI and other state forces as their regular activities. They have been also providing services in the law and order improvement in hill areas. A total of 23 thousand Ansar and VDP personnel consist of 40 battalions including two female and one Ansar Guard battalion have been serving throughout the country.
They speakers said they have been devoted in maintaining law and order during the Durgapuja and national and local government polls successfully.
Further, the forces have been engaged in conducting global pandemic corona virus havoc, tree plantation, coastal disaster management, conducting awareness publicity in rural areas and stand by the people as the state demands.
Later the guests had recognized and awarded 32 of their personnel in performing better in the services in the year.
