Ruling Awami League (AL) and its front organizations had brought an anti-hartal rally in the town protesting untoward countrywide hartal and anarchy by BNP and Jamaat E Islami. The rally was brought from Pairachattar in the town that was ended at the starting point parading main roads on Monday morning. Leaders and activists of AL, Krishak League, Juba League, Bangabandhu Sainik League and Chhatra League participated in the r ally and agitation meeting.
AL district unit general secretary Sadul Karim Mintu, poura unit general secretary Nazrul Islam Biswas, Chhatra League (BCL) district unit secretary Al Imran among others spoke in the gathering.
The speakers said the BNP and its associate Jamaat have been conducting heinous activities including killing of law enforcing agency men, innocent people and attacking and setting the residence of supreme judicial officials breaking all norms of humanity. They should be allowed anymore to run this sort of evil doings as they have been destroying the peace from the country earned by huge bloodshed and lives of 30 lakh heroic sons in 1971 war against the Pakistani occupiers. They also requested the business community to continue their trade without fair.
