Jhalakathi Zilla Parishad has appointed 28 contractors via package lottery for 75 projects. A record amount of taxes has been collected by selling 2510 schedules against 28 packages. A total of Tk 8.84 lakh was collected as taxes from theses schedules.
25% of more taxes was collected by selling schedule during the pandemic.
Jhalakathi and Nalchity upazila collected Tk 1.27 million by selling 3537 schedules on last week. Four upazilas in Jhalakathi upazila collected Tk 2.16 million by selling 6047 schedules for 159 projects.
District tax officials informed that from the tax collection, Zilla Parishad employees get their salaries and other dues.
Jhalakathi Zilla Parishad Chairman Sarder Md Shah Alam presided the second phase of lottery programme on Thursday.
Zilla Parishad Member Salauddin Ahmed Salek, Saidur Rahman Sentu, Assistant Engineer Saidur Rahman and other contractors were present at the programme.
A verities of development, construction and repairing projects are included in the tender process.
