The students wing of BNP Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD)- on Sunday demanded full fledge political coexistence at Dhaka University campus vowing to work for welfare of all students. The newly elected president and general secretary of JCD Fazlur Rahman Khokon and Iqbal Hossen demonstrated in favour of their demands at Madhu’s Canteen in the campus along with about 200 activists who chanted slogans.

The JCD leaders said that the JCD activists fear staying in their dormitories as they are threatened and even often chased away if they attempt to return to their dorms. They demanded harmony among the DU students irrespective of the political affiliation and said that there should be co-existence instead of divisions.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) refused to allow non students and those who have links with extremist groups to stay at the university dormitories but said that the regular students can stay and practice their political activities not spoiling other students. During their presence at Madhur canteen some prominent BCL leaders were also present like the central general secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee along with BCL DU unit president Sanjit Chandra Das and Secretary General Saddam Hussein. Later, Al-Nahean Khan Joy, President of BCL joined them. BCL DU central unit president, Al-Nahean Khan Joy, said, "None of the non-students will be allowed in the campus or stay in hall."
