Jatiyatabadi Chikitasak Samaj provided financial assistance to those who were critically injured during the anti-discriminatory student movement in Chattogram on Thursday.
Former Organizing Secretary of central BNP and former Convener of Chattogram city BNP Dr Shahadat Hossain along with others were present at that time.
Dr Shahadat Hossain said many who were critically injured during the anti-discriminatory student movement on August 4 are still under treatment in various government and private hospital. They might need to be sent abroad for better treatment. He called on the wealthy people of the society to stand by them for humanitarian service.
Dr Shahadat Hossain said we have fought against a fascist government for more than 12 years. The government turned the country into a hell by disappearing, murdering, assaulting and filing cases against the leaders and activists of various opposition parties, including BNP. The torture that was imposed by Sheikh Hasina centering the anti-discriminatory student movement was indescribable. However, the way the students played a fearless role and sacrificed their lives to make the movement successful and the way mass people participated in the movement is unbelievable. Sheikh Hasina fled the country in the face of mass uprising due to the united movement of students and mass people. I also pay homage to all the students who became martyrs in the anti-discriminatory student movement, including Abu Sayeed, Mugdha, Chhatra Dal leader Wasim Akram and others.
He said this while providing financial help to more than one hundred people who were critically injured during the anti-discriminatory student movement at Chattogram Medical College Hospital on behalf of the Jatiyatabadi Chikitsak Samaj on Thursday. He asked the leaders and activists of political parties and the people of Chattogram to stay calm. We do not want to see even one more death. We have to protect the victory after achieving it. Those who are vandalizing and looting in various areas need to be identified. The people who want to destroy the democracy of the country are involved in these acts. So, everyone needs to stay aware and be careful. Attempts were made to take away this victory again and again. This victory should not be taken away. Those who are committing these criminal acts still have weapons in their hands and those who are illegally using both the legal and illegal weapons need to be detained immediately. With the overall supervision of Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) leader Dr Md Isa, former Health Secretary of Chattogram metropolitan unit of BNP and DAB leader Dr Sarwar Alam, DAB leader Dr Imroz Uddin, Dr Tanna, Dr Yasmin, Dr Imran, Dr Sani, Dr Shilva, Dr Shakir-ur-Rashid, Dr Samiul, Dr Himu, Dr Mamun, Dr Faysal, Dr Mehedi, Dr Bipu, Dr Kafil Barua, Dr Jabed, Dr Sharif, Dr Arif, Dr Mezbah and others were present while the financial assistance were provided.
