The government of Japan has decided to provide emergency support of about $1million to those affected by the recent fire in Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar.
The fund will go through the Japan Platform which is an international emergency humanitarian aid organization. This support will include health and medical care, food assistance, water and sanitation assistance, and shelter assistance, the Japan embassy in Dhaka said.
With extending this assistance, Japan has contributed $156million in total to humanitarian assistance in Cox’s Bazar since August 2017 when the mass exodus happened following the Myanmar military crackdown in the Rakhine State.
Bangladesh has given shelter over 1.1 million Rohingyas.
