Durul Huda, Liberation War Affairs Secretary of Rajshahi City unit of Jubo League, through a press conference held at Rajshahi Reporters' Unity on Tuesday noon has alleged that Jamaat supporter Abdul Bari with ten of his gang members has attacked his house several times and ransacked inside and outside the house. Abdul Bari and his gang members have also threatened to kill Durul Huda and his family members through gunfire if they do not leave the house.

Durul Huda at the press conference informed, on April-13 last year(2022) he purchased some 5.25 kathas of land at BSCIC crossing area of the city from one Lucky Begum of Natunpara village under Paba Upazila. Later in September last year he constructed boundary wall surrounding the land and started to construct a house there. While the construction works going on, Jamaat supporter Abdul Bari of neighboring Seroil area along with his paid gang members resisted him from making the house and claimed the land belonged to him. Durul Huda asked Bari to show concerned documents of the land he was claiming but Bari failed to show any document in this connection rather he with his gang members asked him to leave the land and threatened to kill him and his family members.

Durul Huda further said on 8 October last year Bari and the identified terrorist of the area Zia attacked his house with local weapons and fire-arms and ransacked three rooms of his house. Moreover, they looted furniture from the house. Durul Huda filed a case with Boalia thana accusing Bari, Zia and some other un-identified terrorists in this connection.

Jubo League leader Durul Huda further mentioned, during the rule of BNP-Jamaat, Zia was a Jubo Dal leader and he was actively involved in vandalism and terrorist activities during 2013-14.

Durul Huda further informed, there are 10 cases of extortion, terrorist attacks, ransackings and sabotage against Zia with Boalia police station. All the family members of Zia are actively involved with Jamaat-Shibir and BNP politics. Moreover, Abdul Bari himself is a stauch supporter and financier of Jamaat.

Durul Huds further mentioned at the press conference that following the filing of the case against them, Zia posted a picture brandishing a sharp weapon in the social media and ordered him to abandon the house and also threatened him to kill. Police arrested Zia on October 13 in connection with the post.

After getting bail from the court, terrorist gang leader Zia, land pirate Bari and local terrorist Ranju Sheikh again attacked his house on December-13 last year and ransacked his house. They threatened his son Minhajul by brandishing firearm on his head and threatened him to leave the house within seven days. They also threatened to kill him and his family members if they do not leave the house.

Durul Huda filed another case with Boalia thana the next day accusing Bari, Zia, Ranju and some unidentified terrorists.

Durul Huda further informed, Bari made a false deed of the land by making one Nazir Ahmed as the owner of the land on 21 Nov 2006 and through this deed he has been trying to misappropriate the land of Lucky Begum.

Lucky Begum also filed an application with Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation about the land issue when RCC Mayor formed a committee with four councillors to resolve the dispute of the land. Accordingly Lucky Begum appeared before the committee with all her documents but land pirate Bari did not appear before the committee on the fixed date. As a result, the arbitration committee passed its verdict in favour of Lucky Begum.

This correspondent tried to contact Bari over mobilephone several times for his remark in this connection but he did not receive the phone.
