IUB signs MoU with PPL

Top Management of Plasma Plus+ Laboratory (PPL) and Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that took place at University’s own campus on Wednesday in Bashundhara, Dhaka.

On behalf of Plasma Plus+ Laboratory (PPL), Sharmeen Sonya Murshid, chairperson and on behalf of IUB, Professor Milan Pagon, vice chancellor (VC) (acting) signed the MoU.

From Plasma Plus+ Laboratory (PPL), HQ Choudhury, IQ Choudhury, chief executive officer and from IUB, A Matin Chowdhury, chairman Board of Trustees; Khandker Md Iftekhar Haider, treasurer; Dr Md Abdul Khaleque, dean School of SESM, and Professor JMA Hannan, head of the Department of Pharmacy were present during the signing ceremony.

The MoU leads to the formation of an ISO-certified research center at IUB which will be a Center of Excellence in pharmaceutical analysis research and advanced professional training. This MoU introduces high-tech instruments like HPLC, GC-MS, FT-IR, and AAS to IUB. Plasma Plus+ Laboratory (PPL), now housed at the Department of Pharmacy, IUB is a one-of-its-kind ISO-certified laboratory with a long standing reputation in chemical analysis. PPL has a prestigious legacy of carrying out contract research for organizations like the World Bank, FAO, UNDP, Bangladesh Military, Eskayef etc.

Following the ceremony, dignitaries from PPL visited the laboratories and premises of the Department of Pharmacy where PPL will be relocated. The visiting team expressed utmost satisfaction with the laboratory facilities of the department.

This MoU makes Plasma Plus+ Laboratory at IUB to be the first and only ISO-certified research laboratory in Bangladesh.
