Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia became champion in the Inter-university Basketball Tournament-2022 defeating Jahangirnagar University (JU) by 74-62 points.
The final match was held at North-South University on Sunday. Ministry of Youth and Sports organized the tournament, sponsored by Polar Ice-cream.
Minitry of Youth and Sports Secretary Mesbah Uddin presided over the prize giving ceremony while Asaduzzaman Khan, Home Minister of Bangladesh attended here as the chief guest. North South University Vice-chancellor Prof Dr. Atiqul Islam, Independent University Vice-chancellor Prof Tanweer Hasan, Basketball Federation CEO Ronjit Chandra Das and IU Physical Education department director Dr. Mohammad Sohel, among others, were also present at the occasion.
Christopher Gonsalvas, one of the IU Basketball team members, received the best player award in the tournament.
A total of 23 public & private university participated in the tournament.
