A student of Islamic University in Kushtia reportedly remained missing since Saturday.
The victim was identified as Abdullah Al-Mamun, 24, a student of Al-Quran and Islamic Studies department and son of Siddique Mollah, hailing from Satkhira district. According to family members, Mamun went missing while returning home from the campus.
Mamun talked to his father over phone on Saturday noon, saying he was in Jashore at that time, Siddique said, adding that later his phone was found switched off. “We went to Shyamnagar Police Station in Satkhira to lodge a general diary in this regard but the duty officer refused to record it,” he said.
Contacted, officer-in-charge of IU Police Station Raton Sheikh said he was informed about the incident. “But we have nothing to do as he went missing from Jashore.”
