IU celebrates Diwali

Diawli, the most significant festival of lights for Hindu Culture, was celebrated at the Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Monday at Birshreshtho Hamidur Rahman auditorium by lighting candles and flying air-balloon.

Prof Dr. Paresh Chandra Barman, president of the Puja Celebrating Association inaugurated the Diwali by lighting the candles. Secretary Harathan Modok, Treasurer Rony Shaha, IU BCL unit president Faisal Siddike Arafat, Brozen Das, Prokash Baroy, Hridoy Pal and Joyonto Dey members of Puja Celebrating Association were also present at that time.

More than One thousand ignited candles, air-balloon and firework were displayed in the TSCC corridor by the Hindu religious teachers and students.

Harathan Modok said, the main theme of Diwali is the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.
