Popular magazine show ‘Ityadi’, written, directed, and hosted by Hanif Sanket, is set to air a brand-new episode filmed in Jhenaidah. The episode will be broadcast on Bangladesh Television (BTV) at 8 pm on May 30, right after the Bangla news.

Known as one of the longest-running and most-loved TV shows in Bangladesh, ‘Ityadi’ continues its tradition of highlighting the heritage and stories of different regions. This time, the team travelled to Jhenaidah, often called the gateway to southern Bangladesh, to capture the beauty and history of the district.

Despite facing storms, heavy rain, and muddy roads, thousands of enthusiastic people gathered at the venue to be part of the show’s live recording.

The episode opens with a song introducing Jhenaidah, written by Moniruzzaman Palash of Shailkupa and performed by over a hundred local dancers. The song was composed by Hanif Sanket and sung by Rajib and Tanzina Ruma.

A special folk song based on the lyrics of legendary local poet Pagla Kanai will be performed by Selim Chowdhury and Tasiba. Another track by Monir Khan, a native of Jhenaidah, will also be featured.

As usual, the episode includes an interactive quiz session, from which four audience members were picked to act in a drama about Jhenaidah’s famous banana and betel leaf.

Viewers will also enjoy reports on the region’s history, the well-known Dattnagar Agricultural Farm, and stories of notable personalities.

The show will present socially-aware comedy sketches on contemporary topics.

Familiar faces like Babul Ahmed, Abdullah Rana, Subhashish Bhowmik, Amin Azad, Anjuman Ara Shirin, Mukit Zakaria, and

many others will be seen in this episode.
