The number of the factories is increasing in the EPZ and it becomes the investors’ main choice due to the cheap labor cost, ease of Rail and Road transportation and being an agro-based area.

The economical condition of the employees of the factories located in the EPZ has developed. Local economy has also been geared up. The local and international investors are coming forward to build their business establishments, as Ruppur Nuclear Power Plant was build near the EPZ.

Adnan PSF Industries, Brothers Plastic Industries, Gold Sign Industries, Rahim Afroz Industries, Fujian Export Industries, Renesa Barind, Ishwardi Water Supply and German Euro Chemical etc. are the running factories in this EPZ.

Battery, Textile Chemical, Readymade garments, bag, tent, Jute products are being producing from these factories.

These goods are exported to USA, Australia, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Belgium, German, China, Canada, India Thialand and almost 72 countries of the world.

Nazma Binte Alamgir, general manager (Public Relations) of BEPZA told the Bangladesh Post that Ishwardi EPZ holds better position among the BEPZA.  The major export earnings of this EPZ comes from ready-made garments.

In future, the earnings from export will boost up more as five  other factories will be added in the manufacturing basket.
