‘Irregularities, graft won’t be tolerated’

New Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kushtia Mohammad Saidul Islam has announced that no irregularities or corruption will be tolerated. Transparency and accountability will be ensured at all levels of administration. 

The DC made the remark while exchanging views with journalists working in the district at his office on Wednesday morning. The journalists greeted the new DC with a bouquet at the time.

The deputy commissioner further commented that, journalists are the conscience of the society. Just as the reflection of the people can be seen in the mirror, the reflection of various irregularities and corruption of the society becomes visible through the pens of the journalists. 

During the programme he sought the cooperation of journalists in ensuring transparency and accountability in the administration and in establishing good governance. 

Mrinal Kanti Dey, Deputy Director of Local Government Division, Additional District Magistrate Md. Sirajul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General, Education and ICT) Lutfun Nahar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Muhammad Obaidur Rahman and other administration officials were present at the time. 

Abdur Rashid Chowdhury, former president of Kushtia Press Club and editor of Dainik Bangladesh Barta, former general secretary of Kushtia Press Club, editor of Dainik Jayjatra newspaper, Kushtia correspondent of news agency UNB and Jago News24.com Al-Mamun Sagar and others were present. 

Mohammad Saidul Islam joined as the Deputy Commissioner of Kushtia on February 14.
