Iranian envoy calls on DU VC

Newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bangladesh Mansour Chavoshi called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman on Sunday (January 29) at the latter’s office of the university. He was accompanied by Javad Askari, Second Secretary of the Iranian Embassy in Dhaka.

During the meeting they exchanged views regarding various issues including the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs being conducted by the University of Dhaka and different universities in Iran.  They stressed the need for exchange of more students, teachers and researchers between DU and Iranian universities.

The Vice-Chancellor said, an excellent historical relationship has been prevailing between Bangladesh and Iran in the fields of education, research, social, cultural, trade and business for a long time. These friendly ties between the two countries will be further strengthened in the days to come, he hoped. 

The Ambassador invited DU Vice-Chancellor to visit various universities in Iran.  He expressed his willingness to appoint more Iranian Visiting Professors in Bangladesh especially at Dhaka University. 

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the Iranian envoy to visit Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research activities.
