International Youth Research Camp concludes in Sri Lanka

Bangladesh Research Society successfully concluded the six-day International Youth Research Camp 2026 in Sri Lanka with six major academic, research and cultural programmes aimed at strengthening international collaboration and youth engagement in research.

Held from May 3 to May 8 in Colombo and Galle, the camp brought together 17 young researchers and professionals from Bangladesh, alongside several participants from Sri Lanka.

The programme featured a number of activities, including field visits and research work in Galle through a Marine Drive train journey, an interactive session with the Sri Lankan Girls’ Guide Association, a research and cultural programme at the SAARC Cultural Centre, and a research collaboration session at the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies. Participants also attended a training session with Toastmasters International Colombo Club.

The closing ceremony was held at the Bangladesh High Commission in Colombo, where participants presented their research findings and received certificates.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Andalib Elias attended the event as chief guest. Among the special guests were Professor Dr. Rangika Halwatura and Professor Dr. Sikder Md. Zulkernine.

As part of the programme, delegates also held a collaboration meeting with Professor Dr. Indika Mahesh Karunathilake to discuss future cooperation in education, research and cultural exchange between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
