International poetry fair starts in Cox’s Bazar

Poets from home and abroad announced global peace from Cox's Bazar district. The poets said, a peaceful world is not a world of conflict, attack and loss, but a peaceful world should be set on the road to destruction. In addition, the poets have started giving that journey.

The announcement was made at Shaheed Minar in Cox's Bazar on the first day of the 3-day Daryanagar International Poetry Fair 2022 which started in Cox's Bazar. The opening ceremony of this fair organized under the theme "Poetry for human beauty" with the slogan "I want a world of peace, I want a pure homeland" started with the national anthem.

In the press conference convener of the committee and General Secretary of Cox's Bazar Najibul Islam, the announcement of Dariyanagar International Poetry Fair and International Writers' Day was read by General Secretary of Bangladesh Writers Club Shah Md. Sanaul Haque

Muhammad Nurul Huda, director general of Bangla Academy, recited the oath of poetry. Bangla Academy's music group sang the prayer of peace.

Ashek Ullah Rafique, Member of Parliament for Cox's Bazar-2 Constituency, announced the opening of the 3-day fair after Bangladesh Writers Club President Sheikh Rabiul Haque's welcome speech.

After that, the poets started the 'poetry sampan yatra' through the Bay of Bengal.

Nupa Alam, member secretary of the implementation committee said, Maheshkhali Adinath Pahar, Badhyabhmi, beauty enjoyment, discussion and poetry reading will be held in Maheshkhali. 

In the afternoon, when the poetry of home and abroad returns to the public library of Cox's Bazar city, the second part of the first day's program will begin. 200 poets including 40 foreign poets are participating in this fair. The fair will end on January 1.
