International Peace Day observed at BRUR

The Women Peace Cafe of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) observed the International Peace Day-2019 on Saturday through various programmes on the campus.

The programmes included bringing out a colourful rally on the campus with participation of members of the BRUR unit of Women Peace Cafe, teachers, students and official of the university, said a press release.

Later, a discussion on importance of international peace was arranged at virtual class room in the academic building no-2 of the university. Vice Chancellor of BRUR Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah led the rally and addressed the discussion as the chief guest.

Executive Director of the Centre for Peace and Justice of BRAC University Manzoor Hasan OBE, Member of the of Governors of Dr Wazed Research and Training Institute of BRUR Dr. Saber Ahmed Chowdhury and Registrar of BRUR Colonel (Retd) Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal addressed as special guests.

The speakers said the International Peace Day is a very important day for every country across the globe. They said peace and good governance should be established in the society and all over the world with combined initiatives of all countries.

They urged young people for participating in social works and the administrations at all levels to extend support to young people to assist them in succeeding in their innovative activities. The chief guest stressed on engaging joint efforts of all concerned and working together to maintain the world peace for prosperity of all nations.
