Inter-service Professional Competition 2024 of Fire Service and Civil Defence Directorate was held at the Fire Service Multipurpose Training Complex in Purbachal, Narayanganj on Sunday.
Director General of Fire Service and Civil Defence Brigadier General Md Main Uddin distributed the prizes among the winners as chief guest.
Dhaka Division won the title of champion in the competition, the first runner-up was Khulna Division and the second runner-up was Fire Service Training Complex, Mirpur.
Individual events included in the competition to improve professional skills were: Warehouse Inspectors Professional Written Test, Station Officer and Firefighter Level Brave Heart Competition, Quick Dress Up, Ladder Climbing and Confined Space Rescue.
Team events included Road Traffic Accident Management and Series Pump Management Competition.
Director (Operation and Maintenance) Lt Col Mohammad Tajul Islam Chowdhury delivered his opening speech at the event.
The director general of the Directorate in his speech as chief guest directed to organize the professional competition twice every year at the departmental level and once at the central level.
He said, "I think that this kind of professional competition will play an important role in making the necessary preparations to face the new challenges of fire accidents that are coming before us."
The director of the department (training, planning and development) Lt. Col. Md. Rezaul Karim, Deputy Director (Operations), Deputy Director (Planning), Deputy Director, Dhaka Division and the Principal of Training Complex were also present.
