Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Professor Dr Abul Bashar Mohammed Khurshid Alam said integrated efforts of all authorities concerned are very important to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic situation.

He said the government has been working relentlessly to fight against the pandemic since it began.

“The government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is pledged to ensure test, isolate and treatment to contain the virus spread,” he said while visiting different hospitals and health installations in the Rajshahi district.

He visited Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH), Rajshahi Medical College (RMC), Rajshahi Medical University, Sadar Hospital and Paba Upazila Health Complex to see for himself their service-delivery activities.

Divisional Director of Health Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, RMC Principal Prof Nawshad Ali, RMCH Director Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani and Civil Surgeon Dr Abu Sayeed Faruque accompanied the DG Health during his daylong visit.

Prof Khurshid urged the doctors, nurses and others concerned to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to deliver better services to the patients for their early recovery.

He said the government has attained tremendous success in registration for vaccine and Covid-19 vaccination throughout the country.

"We are conducting booster dose vaccines side by side with the first and second dose ones successfully as there is no crisis of vaccines," he said, adding that school students have also been brought under the vaccination.

He attributed that capacity of the hospitals, including RMCH, has been enhanced to provide better services to the patients in general.

He also urged all quarters to extend support to the government endeavors.
