Magicians in an international workshop emphasised on use of advance techniques in magical presentations, and effective networking between the magicians of different countries. They also underscored the need for necessary cooperation from the authorities concerned to boost up the potential of this industry.
The two-day international workshop on ‘Development of Magic Industry and Networking’ was held on October 22 and 23 at ‘Magic Theatre’ at Uttara in the capital, organised by Magicians Society of Bangladesh (MSB). Around 100 magicians from home and abroad participated at the workshop.
The first ever international workshop in the country on magic discussed on ‘use of advanced techniques of magic and illusion ‘stage craft’, ‘stage effects’, ‘presentation & showmanship’, ‘slight of hands’ etc. Nine different sessions were held in the workshop while the magicians participated in lectures and demonstrations.
Magician Mamada from Thailand, Danial Boom from China and S Lal and Subash from India participated in the workshop, among others.
Jewel Aich, President of MSB, Aliraj, founder and Secretary of MSB, and Magician Ulfat Kabir from Bangladesh presented lectures on different topics. The renowned magicians also had presentations at the workshop. The participants were presented Certificates, Mementos and Magic – Props at the concluding session of the workshop.
