Int’l Women’s Day observes in dists

The International Women's Day was organsied in Meherpu with the slogan equality for  all . 

On this occasion, a colorful rally was taken out in front of the District Art Academy at around 10:30 am on Friday.  DDeputy Director of Local Government Shamim Hossain led the rally. 

The rally ends at the District Commissioner's office after circling the main road of the city. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner. District Women Affairs Officer Neela Hafiza, National Women's Association Chairman Shamim Ara Hira and people from various walks of life participated in the rally.

 Chittagong Correspondent reports: The International Women's Day was celebrated on Friday morning at the initiative of Chittagong Port Authority (CPA).  On this occasion, among the various programmes, balloon flying and discussions were held at the port auditorium.  Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) Chairman Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail was present as the chief guest.  CPA board members, department heads, sub-departmental heads, heads of educational institutions, CBA leaders, working women's forum leaders, port officials and many others were present in the event.

 In the discussion meeting, the Chief Guest, Chairman Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail said that women are playing a pioneering role in building the society as well as the state.  Along with men, women are currently leaving their marks of talent and competence at all levels of the country.

 Women are not neglected today, keeping the theme of Women's Day in front of them, women are moving ahead in sustainable development with pride.  The role of women officers and employees working in Chittagong Port is immense in the progress of Chittagong Port Authority.

 He urged women to come forward to implement Vision-2041 on the call of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

 Chuadanga Correspondent adds: A colorful rally and discussion meeting were arranged to celebrate International Women's Day on Friday(March 8) under the auspices of District Administration and Women Affairs Department in Chuadanga

A discussion meeting on the theme of "Women's Equality, Opportunities, Advancement and Investment" was held at Deputy Commissioner Conference Room on the day.

 The meeting was presided over by Sharmin Akhtar, Deputy Commissioner (Routine Duties). Maksura Jannat, Deputy Director (in charge) of Women Affairs Department, delivered welcome address at the discussion. Nabila Roksana Chanda, Chairman, National Women's Organization,  and Mimma Sultana, Executive Director, Subarna Foundation were present at the meeting.
