Great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day has been observed in Chitalmari with due dignity.
In the early hours of the 21st, floral wreaths were laid in honor of all the language martyrs of '52 at the Central Shaheed Minar of Chitalmari. Upazila Parishad Chairman Ashok Kumar Baral, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sayeda Faizunnesa, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Jannatul Afroz Swarna, Thana Officer-in-Charge AHM Kamruzzaman Khan, Upazila Awami League President Babul Hossain Khan, Secretary Piyush Kanti Roy, Chitalmari Sadar Union Parishad Chairman Alhaj Nizam Uddin Sheikh, Upazila Awami Juba League Convener Md. Nazrul Islam Sheikh and other leaders and officials and employees of all departments of the upazila and leaders of various professional, social and cultural organizations were present at the moment and in the Provat Feri.
Later, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Syeda Faizunnesa, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Jannatul Afroz Swarna and others spoke on the significance of the day in a discussion meeting organized by the Upazila Administration at the Auditorium of the upazila. The day's program ended with a cultural program.
