Int’l Indigenous Day observed in Natore

On the occasion of the International Indigenous Day on August 9, National Indigenous Council organized a human chain demanding 9 points including constitutional recognition as indigenous people, formation of a separate land commission and ministry for the plains, and providing incentives to indigenous people in the Corona crisis.

The human chain program was organized by the Natore district committee of the organization in front of the old bus stand of Kanaikhali around 11 am on Sunday. 

At the beginning of the program, a minute of silence was observed to mourn the death of Father of the Int’l Indigenous Day observed in Natore Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family on August 15. 

Pradeep Lakra, president of Natore district committee of the National Indigenous Council, Kalidas Roy, General Secretary, Jadu Kumar Das, Joint General Secretary and other tribal leaders spoke on the occasion.
