Int’l debate competition begins


Holding the motto 'Let Be Lightened' Jahangirnagar University Debate Organization (JUDO) inaugurated a four-day international debate tournament, which is being held on online, on yesterday noon.

In collaboration with Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), the tournament is titled as ‘TIB-JUDO Eminenc Pre UADC 2020' 

The competition will be held from 27 to 29 November and 32 teams from all over the world will participate. 

Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, executive director of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) while inaugurating the ceremony  said, ‘Through this tournament the voice of youth generation will reach to the world more strongly to create a corruption-free society.' 

Conducted by Radeta Tahsin Audity, English debate forum co-ordinator of JUDO,    Dr. ATM Atiqur Rahman, Moderator of JUDO and professor of History department,  Dr. Mohammad Alamgir Kabir, director of TSC-JU, Sheikh Manjur-E-Alam, director of TIB, Abdullah Ahmed Chowdhury Mamun, founder president of JUDO, Sumaiya Tasnova,  convenor of the tournament gave their speech, among others.  

The president of JUDO, Tazrin Islam Tonny presided over the ceremony.  

Mentionable, JUDO has been as the central debate organization of Jahangirnagar University and spreading the art of words through training, practicing and organising debates to make rational human beings in the society since 2005.
