Int’l Dance Day concludes at BSA

To celebrate the International Dance Day across the country many dance groups have organised programmes at different venues in Dhaka on Monday. Bangladesh Nrityashilpi Sangstha (BNS) brought down the curtain on a week-long programme at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Bangladesh Nrityashilpi Sangstha organised a week-long programme from April 23 to 29 in Dhaka. On Monday, the BNS organised a dance show at Central Shaheed Minar in the morning. Later, a procession was brought out from the venue.The BNS organised the closing ceremony of its week-long programme at the National Theatre Hall of the Bangladesh Shilpala Academy (BSA) in the evening.

The programme featured discussion, dance show and awards ceremony.The BNS honoured dancer Shamim Ara Nipa with Sammana Padak. The organisation also honoured its former adviser Mohammad Elias Haider and former vice-president Nigar Chowdhury with Nrityacharya Bulbul Chowdhury Smriti Padak.

Bangladesh Police Dance Troupe, Bangladesh Nrityashilpi Sangstha, Ansar Dance Academy, Srishtishil Academy and Nrityarang staged group dance recitals at the event. Saju Ahmed and Munmun Ahmed staged Kathak dance while Tamanna Rahman staged Manipuri dance recital.

Dancer Selina Haque staged a solo performance titled ‘Nritya Sur’, Arif Hossain Shamim staged ‘Nabaras’, Anik Bose staged a dance recital synchronised with the song O Amar Desher Mati, Farhana Chowdhury Baby staged dance recital with Rakte Bona Desh, M R Wasek staged dance recital with Ranga Matir Pathe, Samina Husain Prema staged dance recital with Chal Jai Chal Jai and Prantik Deb staged dance recital with Gahana Kusuma Kunja Majhe.

G M Boby staged Keerthanam Bharatanatyam dance, Benazir Salam staged Odissi dance, Antar Dewan staged a dance recital titled ‘Colours of Hill’, Emdadul Haque Milon staged ‘Ananda Dhara Bohiche Bhubane’.Mouli and Imran staged a duet dance recital titled ‘Melbondhon’ and Bangladesh Shilpaklala Academy dance troupe staged its recent dance production titled ‘Amar Parichoy’ based on Syed Shamsul Haque’s poem with the same title.

BNS organised a special programme on april 29. Saju ahmed, General Secretary, Bangladesh Nrityashilpi Sangstha (BNS) inaugurated the programme when Salauddin Ahmed, Secretary, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy addressed welcome speech.  Naheed Ezaher Khan, MP, State minister for cultural affairs was present as chief guest at the programme. Liaquat Ali Lucky, Director General, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy was in the chair. Nasiruddin Yousuff Bacch, Founding President,  Bangladesh Graam Theatre attained the programme as invited guest to celebrate the occasion. 

Minu Haque, President, BNS, thanked all the guests and participants to attain in the programme and make the occasion successful.
