The International Medical Conference-2024 titled “Community Eye Care Services Across Borders” was held at Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Eye Hospital and Training Institute in Gopalganj.
About 200 internationally renowned ophthalmologists from Bangladesh and India participated in the international conference held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Nahid Ferdowsi, Director of Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib Eye Hospital and Training Institute. Community Health Assistance Trust and Bangladesh Medical Research Council Chairman Prof. Dr. Syed Modachher Ali virtually attended the programme as the chief guest.
Prime Minister's personal physician Prof Dr. ABM Abdullah, President of Bangladesh Ophthalmological Society Prof Dr. AHM Enayet Hossain, former Secretary General of Bangladesh Ophthalmological Society Dr. Tariq Reza Ali and others, were present as special guests.

The aim of the International Ophthalmology Conference was held in Gopalganj, doctors from Bangladesh and India participated to exchange experience, use technology, correct diagnosis and increase public awareness to prevent type-2 diabetes, treat retinopathy, oculoplasty, lens replacement, cataract surgery, describe and improve children's ophthalmology. Various aspects of international contribution of doctors in medical care has been highlighted.
Later, Prof. Dr. Nahid Ferdausi, the president of the program and the Director of Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib Eye Hospital and Training Institute gave the honorary crest on behalf of to the doctors invited in the programme for their special contribution to medicine.
