Instruction to screen ‘Tungipara’r MiyaBhai’ in educational institutions

The Ministry of Education has given instructions to screen the movie Tungipara'rMiyaBhaiin secondary and higher secondary educational institutions. The directive was given in a notification signed by Deputy Secretary AnwarulHaque on Tuesday.

The notification said that the film has been made based on the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s life during childhood, adolescence, and youth. This is the first film based on the biography of Bangabandhu by Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC).

Shapla Media has already released the movie on the Cinebaj OTT platform where people can watch the movie for free. The head of the educational institutions has been directed to make arrangements for the screening of the movie through this platform in all the educational institutions after the opening of schools and colleges.

Selim Khan, head of the production company of Shapla Mediasaid, “This is a great news for us. I think this will help the students know the appropriate history of Bangabandhu. At the same time, the nation will be inspired to follow the ideals of the father of the nation. We are grateful to all concerned for giving us this opportunity”.

The story of how Sheikh Mujib was born in Tungipara, Gopalganj and became the father of the nation of Bangladesh has been depicted in the movie. Tungipara'rMiyaBhai is directed by Selim Khan and scripted by Shamim Ahmed Rony. The length of the film made under the banner of Shapla Media is 2 hours and 12 seconds. Shanto Khan has played the role of Bangabandhu in this film. PrarthanaFardinDighi has played the role of Sheikh FazilatunnesaMujib. The movie was released on April 2 in 54 theaters across the country.
