Initiative taken to distribute tabs as PM’s gift

An initiative has been taken to distribute tabs among the meritorious students who are reading in class nine and 10 of their respective high schools and Madrashas of the district as recognition for their brilliant results.

The tabs would be distributed to the students as the gift of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through district and upazila statistics offices in cooperation with district and upazila administrations and education offices.

On Tuesday, the activity has began by distributing tabs among the students of class nine and 10 of Gobindaganj upazila who secured first, second and third positions in the classes.

Engineer Monwar Hossain Chowdhury, MP, formally inaugurated the tab distribution activity at a function held at the conference room of Upazila Parishad of the upazila town as the chief guest while upazila Chairman Abdul Latif Prodhan was present as special guest.

On the occasion, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Shah Alam Parvez, Upazila Statistics Officer Paritosh Sharma and Head Teacher Rezaul Islam addressed, among others.

Eng Monwar said the country has been turned into digital one in 2021 under the dynamic and prudent leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. People of the country are now enjoying the benefits of "Digital Bangladesh", he added.

He also advised the students to acquire knowledge through using the tabs properly during the age of globalization to face the 21st century. After getting tabs, the students thanked the Premier and expressed their gratefulness to her.

A good number of students, teachers, guardians, public representatives and local elite were present on the occasion. Deputy Director Of District Statistics Office Enamul Haque said more than 2,100 tabs would be distributed to the meritorious

students of high schools and Madrashas of seven upazilas of the district under Population Census and Household Census Project-2021. Of them, 492 tabs would be distributed to the students of 82 educational institutions of Gobindaganj upazila, he mentioned.
