There is allegation that the houses gifted by the Prime Minister on the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for ultra-poor and landless destitute are rather being allocated for the local influential people at Nachole upazila of Chapainwabganj district.

In this connection, Mahbub Alam son of Murtuza of village Nasirabad has submitted a complaint to the Deputy Commissioner of C'Nawabganj accusing Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Nachole for not allocating the PM's houses to the real landless but to those, who own landed properties and houses.

In the complaint, names and details of those influential people were also mentioned. The complainant also applied to the Deputy Commissioner to allocate the houses to real landless poor after investigation.

It is learnt, 42 PM's houses have been constructed on the bank of Dhobapukur pond adjacent to Dulahar Primary School at Nasirabad of Nachole upazila. All the houses have already been allocated to people.

Complainant Mahbub Alam informed, his father has been staying with family members on 33 decimals of Khas land beside the pond for nearly 55-year. Former UNO Sabiha Sultana took possession of a half of the land and made houses of the PM's gift there.

Since the land was being possessed by Mahbub's father for a long time and he has no land of his own, he requested the UNO to allocate three houses for him and his landless sons and a list was also prepared accordingly.

Mahbub further mentioned, the houses on the land they possessed have been built and allocated among people but the new UNO Sharif Uddin has not allocated any house for them.

Mahbub said they are real landless because his father has been living with them on khas land for a long time. But, they were not allocated the houses rather two of the houses have been allocated without lottery to neighbours Zahid and Serul, sons of Reazuddin.
