Indigent disabled get relief as PM’s gift

Chattogram Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) ASM Jamshed Khandaker handed over Prime Minister’s gift to the indigent people with disabilities in Chattogram city on Thursday morning.

 The relief items were distributed among 400 indigentdisabled persons at the Kazem Ali school and College ground in the city.  Each packet of gift bag contained 8 kg of rice, 1 kg of pulses, 1 kg of gram, 2 kg of potatoes, 1 kg of sugar and 1 bar of soap.

 Deputy Director of the District Social Services Office Md Shahidul Islam, Executive Magistrate NazmaBinte Amin, Executive Magistrate Ashraful Hasan, NDC and Executive Magistrate MasudRana and District Relief Officer Sajib Chakraborty were present on the occasion.

 While distributing the relief, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) ASM JamshedKhandaker said that in the Corona situation, people who became unemployed during the lockdown as well as the indigent disabled will not be deprived of government relief.  Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of the father of our beloved nation, has directed to bring relief to everyone who is unemployed or in distress.

 "We want no one to starve in this situation," he added.  Gift items are being delivered to the homes of the lower and middle class people who are embarrassed to take help in public and are telephoning and texting us for help.
