A 40-member delegation of Indian and Russian armed forces on Sunday called on Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan.
It is mentionable that, among delegation, a total of 30 Indian and two Russian war veterans had participated in the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.
According to the ISPR, during call on, the visiting team exchanged greetings and shared their views.
Chief of Air Staff commemorated the contribution of Indian and Russian armed forces during the liberation with gratitude.
In his speech, he recalled the greatest Bengali of all time, Father
of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of Independent Bangladesh. He showed respect to the martyred freedom fighters of all members whose sacrifice gave us the freedom of Bangladesh. A 40 member delegation team arrived in Bangladesh on 14 for an official visit on an invitation from the government.
During this visit, they are participating in different official ceremony related to celebration of the Victory Day 2023.
The visit will further enhance the existing warm relationship between the countries. Principal Staff Officers of Air Headquarters and other senior BAF officers were also present at the gathering.
