A flag meeting between BGB and BSF for handing over an Indian National was held on Thursday (March 29) in Darshana Border area in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga.
The Indian person was identified as Dipok Kumar Tagore, son of Sreeram Noresh Tagore of village Moniharpur in Warishnagar Thana of Samastipur in India.
According to sources, BGB men arrested Dipok Kumar from Pirojpur District. The arrestee could not show passport and documents.
A case was filed on Pirojpur Thana of the district on September 9 in 2019. Then he was sent to Pirojpur Jail.
Pirojpur Jail Authority shifted him to Chuadanga Jail on October 18, 2023.
After 4 years 6 months 29 days’ imprisonment at jail he was handed over through flag meeting. Enamul Kabir, Darshana ICP in charge, Atiqur Rahman, SI of Immigration police, Fahim Hasan, SI of Darshana police station, Jahid Hasan, Chuadanga Custom Super, Sree Badhan Kumar, DIB of India, Ram Otar Pizadab, Custom Inspector of India, Tonmoy Das, SI of Krisnanagar Thana, G C Dey, Immigration Officer of India, Bhittasi H Makhen, Company Commander of BSF, Nag Ronjon, Commandent of BSF and Chittaranjan Das, Red Cross Representative of India were present at flag meeting .
