Former independent candidate Md Chenu Mia withdrew his candidature and held a press conference ahead of the upcoming UP election in Kishoreganj district. He confirmed the information at a press conference at his residence in Mumurdia Union of Katiadi Upazila on Sunday afternoon.
At that time, Chenu Mia read out his written statement and said, “ Earlier, I have submitted my nomination papers as an independent candidate in the forthcoming Union Parishad elections."
“However, I withdrew my candidature after discussing this issue with my family members and my political mentors.
After discussing this issue properly, I realised that not participating in the election is for the betterment of the people in the area.
However, I want to serve people of my union and my country”, he added.
