The Independence Manifesto Reading Day was celebrated in Kalihati Upazila on Sunday. Kalihati Shajahan Siraj College took out a rally marking the day at 2 pm. Floral wreath was placed at the portrait of renowned political leader and freedom fighter Shajahan Siraj followed by a discussion.
In the discussion meeting under the chairmanship of Mojibur Rahman, principal of Shahjahan Siraj College, Shahjahan Siraj's wife Begum Rabeya Siraj spoke through virtual video conference. The main discussant was Barrister Sarwar Siraj Shukla, daughter of Shajahan Siraj. Gopal Chandra Saha, brave freedom fighter Shamsul Haque, College teacher Golam Ambia Siddiqui, Shafiqul Islam, Rashidul Islam and others were present. The discussion session was moderated by Assistant Professor Tariqul Islam.
At the end of the discussion, scholarship was awarded to 95 students of the college.
