Bangladesh national team opener Imrul Kayes has locked himself and his family into 14 day-quarantine after attending his fathers funeral, reports agencies.

Imrul Kayes father breathed his last on Sunday night at the age of 60 in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical College Hospital at Dhaka. After then on today morning he buried his fathers body in their hometown Meherpur. Imrul has also made sure to limit the presence of people as the risk of coronavirus is high right now.

After completing the funeral he and his family locked themselves in self quarantined for the next 14 days after the Civil Sergent and Health Department officials of Meherpur asked him to do.

The left-handed opener told to a Bengali daily that as a citizen of the country everyone should follow the order of the government, so he is following the order and staying in quarantine with his family as the virus is infectious and he and his family members had to move outside of the hospital so thinking about the situation he made this decision immediately after his father’s funeral.

“Every citizen of the country should obey the government's instructions. Because the virus is contagious. Since we were in the hospital and had to travel on and off to Dhaka, so for myself, my family and the people in the area we will be in self-quarantine. At the same time, please pray for my father and family," Imrul Kayes said with a distressed heart.

Imrul also said that thinking about the current coronavirus pandemic situation he didn't allow to have many gatherings in his father’s funeral.

"After the death of my father, the administration of our area asked for my help to not have public gathering. That's what we did. Only 40 to 50 people attend the funeral and burial, keeping social distance. Even everyone went to the cemetery partially during the burial.

To be honest, the situation in the country is also not well right now, so we all have to obey all the government's instructions. Try not to bring danger on someone else for my own deficit." Imrul added

Describing the situation Imrul said that his father had an accident with the public transport nosimon in Meherpur. After that he brought his father to Square Hospital at Dhaka, where his father underwent a surgery due to a head injury and was recovering slowly.

But suddenly last night his father breathed his last as the body of his father wasn't able to take any medicine further. Imrul asked everyone in the country to pray for his fathers departed soul.

"When he [Imrul's father] had an accident with the nosimon in Meherpur. We immediately brought him to Dhaka Square Hospital through helicopter as the roads were off. He underwent a surgery due to a head injury.

After then he was slowly recovering. But he got infected while staying in the ICU. The body lost its ability to take medicines. Last night he suddenly left us. Everything is Allah's will. I want everyone in the country to pray for my father."
