Imam Conference held in Manikganj

A daylong seminar and district Imam conference on 'Contribution in Socio-Economic Development of Trained Imams' was held in Manikganj town on Wednesday.

 Deputy Commissioner of the district Muhammad Abdul Latif addressed the function as the chief guest while Director of Imam Training Academy Md. Anisuzzaman Sikder was present as main speaker.

NPI University Director Dr Faruque Hossain, Deputy Director of Animal Resource Directorate Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, Additional Deputy Director of Department of Agriculture Extension Md. Aftabuddin Mahmud, Islamic Foundation Field Officer Md. Mursalin and Master Trainer of Islamic Foundation Maulana Ashraful Alam spoke on the occasion, among others.

Abdul Latif said Imams can play a vital role to eliminate drug, militancy and eve-teasing from the society through their motivational speeches. The DC also urged the people through the Imams to bring under cultivation each of the land of the country to make the country self-sufficient in food production. A total of 140 selected trained Imams from seven upazilas of the district took part in the function.
