Iftar items distributed

Different food items were distributed among distressed people on the occasion of holy month of Ramzan by Begum Hajera Rashid Memorialat Sarsakandi village of Algi union under Bhanga upazila in Faridpur.

Begum Parul Rahman, chairperson of Begum Hajera Rashid Memorial, distributed the food items on Friday to unemployed people as they are facing food crisis during the countrywide shutdown. Md Shahidul Islam, Liza Akhter and Harun Sheikh, volunteers of the organisation were present at the time. 

A total of 30 people were given 10 kg of rice, 1 liter oil, 500 grams salt, 2 kg potatoes, 1 kg pulse. Another 30 people were given 1 kg gram, 1 kg of besan, 1 kg dabri, 100 gms Yusuf Psyllium husk (bhusi), 1 kg sugar, 1 kg bengal gram and 1 kg sugar. 

Meanwhile, Begum Parul Rahman said, “People are losing their jobs due to this pandemic and are living a much stressed life. On the other hand, our holy month is starting today. They cannot afford Iftar, so I gave food and iftar items to some families as much as I could. I will give more if necessary.” She called upon the rich affluent people of the society to come forward at this time.
