Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has imposed some restrictions on Seheri and Iftar during the month of Ramzan due to coronavirus spread. This was announced through a statement on Friday.

The statement said that Iftar cannot be made and sold on the street or elsewhere. Iftar cannot be done in restaurants or food shops during the entire month of Ramadan. Iftar should be bought and packed while maintaining social distance. Besides, Iftar cannot be sold after 6 pm.

Seheri cannot be made, arranged or sold in restaurants, food shops or anywhere else. No Iftar party can be organized anywhere and Iftar cannot be distributed anywhere without CMP’s permission.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Public  Relations) Abu Bakar Siddique said the restrictions were imposed on the instructions of the CMP commissioners in the interest of the country and the nation to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The city dwellers have to abide by these restrictions; otherwise action will be taken according to the law.
