The Islamic Development Bank-Bangladesh Islamic Solidarity Educational Wakf (IDB-BISEW) has announced applications for its vocational scholarship programme. The application process began.
Under this program, IDB-BISEW has been offering six-month vocational training to underprivileged Muslim youth for the past 11 years. The initiative aims to develop skilled and professional manpower by supporting financially challenged students who had to discontinue their studies. So far, 1,741 trainees have completed the program and secured employment in over 248 local and international organizations.
This scholarship provides six-month (720-hour) technical training in trades like Electrical Works, Electronics, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Welding and Fabrication, and Machinist. Selected trainees receive free accommodation, meals, and a monthly stipend of BDT 500 during training. Experienced trainers conduct the courses following a job-oriented curriculum, and the program also offers job placement support after successful completion.
The scholarship is open only to underprivileged Muslim candidates aged between 18 and 26 years. Applicants must have completed a minimum of Class 8 and a maximum of SSC. Those currently studying or pursuing higher education are not eligible for this opportunity. However, graduates or diploma holders can apply separately for the one-year IT Scholarship Programme offered by IDB-BISEW.
Applicants are required to submit their JSC, SSC, and HSC results with the year and roll number, along with a passport-sized photo. A mobile number is mandatory for verification, and admit cards must be printed after submission to attend the selection exam.
