Considering the Corona (Covid-19) situation across the country, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, VGF cash assistance has been provided to 1,290 distressed and indigent families of Kashiani Sadar Union in Gopalganj.
A total of Tk 5,60,500 has been distributed to 1,290 men and women of Kashiani Union in cash with Tk 450 each.
Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner Shahida Sultana was present as the chief guest at the Bhatiapara railway ground on Monday noon and distributed the cash assistance.
Kashiani Sadar Union Parishad Chairman. Mashiur Rahman Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Eliasur Rahman, Kashiani Upazila Chairman Subrata Tagore Hiltu, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rathindra Nath Roy, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sajia Shahnaz Tama, NDC Milon Saha, Assistant Commissioner Mamun Khan and others were present at the time.
UP Chairman Md. Mashiur Rahman Khan said the cash gift given by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of Corona Epidemic and Eid-ul-Fitr has been distributed among 1,290 helpless and distressed families in the union.
“I am happy to distribute this cash among the people as a servant under the direction of Colonel (Retd) Muhammad Farooq Khan, Member of Parliament from Gopalganj-1 constituency. Everyone should wear a mask and follow the hygiene rules to combat the pandemic”, he added.
