A husband and a wife died with coronavirus symptoms in Chandpur on Monday. There were only few hours of difference in between their deaths. The deceased Rokeya Begum (72) died first and later after few hours her husband Mojibur Rahman (80) died as well.
They are residents of Chitralekha area of the district town. One of their sons and their grandson was also tested corona positive.
Daffodil International University Assistant Director (PR) Anwar Habib Kajal said his mother Rokeya Begum died at her home in the Chitralekha area of the city around 7.30pm on Monday.
He buried his mother at his village home in Hossainpur of Ashikati union of Sadar upazila at 3.30 pm and returned home. An hour and a half later, his father Mojibur Rahman (60) died at around 5 am on Tuesday.
He was a retired government official. Chandpur Sadar Upazila Health Officer Sajeda Palin said “Corona was found positive in the deceased old man and woman’s son and grandson. The health official feared the deaths were due to old age and corona symptoms.”
