Husband Alo Khan, a resident of Kathalia under Jhalokathi and his extramarital affair partner Pakhi Begum were sentenced to life imprisonment for killing his wife, two years ago.
Pakhi Begum has also been fined Tk10, 000; if she does not pay this, she will have to serve an additional 2 months in prison.
Jhalokathi District and Sessions Judge Court Judge Md Gazi Rahman gave the verdict on Sunday.
The lifer are Alo Khan aka Alom Khan, 45, son of Jelem Khan hailed from South Chechri village under Kathalia upazila and Pakhi Begum, 40, wife of Lal Miah of the same area.
According to the case summary, Alo Khan had an extramarital affair with Pakhi Begum for the last three years.
On 4th February of 2017 Alo Khan strangled his wife Beauty Begum, 40 on that issue.
Later, he threw wife's body beside his home. After that, on 6th February deceased's brother Forkan filed a case at the Kathalia Police Station against Alo Khan and his lover Pakhi Begum in this connection.
Sub-Inspector Md Yunus Miah submitted the charge sheet to the court on October 10, 2017.
